We birds are beginning to feel great disappointment with the EU and
the way that it is handling its constitution. Various statements that
have been recently made by EU human politicians gives us the impression
that the EU has embarked on a road to less democracy by disrespecting
the voice and opinion of the European humans.
We shall try to
be more concrete. The Valery Giscard d'Estaing man, a former French
president who chaired the convention that drafted the constitution said
that the new plan was to camouflage the big changes that his
constitution had tried to set out openly. “Public opinion,” he said,
“will be led to accept, without realizing, provisions that nobody would
dare to present directly.” This is familiar... The
EU Constitution has 27,000 of pages, whereby direct order had been
issued by the EUlites that this vast book could not be simplified to,
lets say to 500 pages, so someone would read it. The EU "constitution"
has 27,000 pages tied to 330,000 laws, sub-laws and references. For
each line you read in 27,000 pages, you need to cross check it with a
reference which then you would check with another reference, which
essentially makes it impossible to read for anyone, just like the EU
wants it. Someone should have raised their eyebrows when the order came
strictly banning any creation of a book that would explain the EU
Constitution in shorter form!? Amato, Italy's interior
minister,
hailed the way it had been given an "unreadable" new form, full of
cross-references and footnotes. This was done, according to Amato, to
help governments that were 'struggling' to avoid referendums.
Now, said Amato, a British minister could say: “Look you see it
is absolutely unreadable, it's a typical Brussels treaty, nothing new,
no need for a referendum.” Finally, a few weeks ago, Dehaene, a
former Belgian prime minister, in an interview with "Le Soir" declared
it dangerous talk to want too much transparency and clarity in the EU. We
were shocked hearing these statements from leading European
politicians. Instead of providing a clear and understandable
constitution and going to the effort of explaining it to their citizens,
now they have created an unreadable and incomprehensible monster, with
the objective of deceiving their citizens. Shame on them. We do not think
that they will get away with it since many citizens will reject a text
that they cannot understand. They will also vote down any government
that attempts to deceive them. But even if it were to be accepted, then
the EU would put itself in the predicament of having serious problems
in implementing an unreadable text. We birds would
consequently suggest to the European human leaders to stop being
undemocratic and disrespectful to their voters and return to
transparency and democracy and also make that special effort to explain
to their humans the benefits they will get from the new constitution.
We think that they will listen. Otherwise, undemocratic methods will
only lead to the weakening if not the dissolution of the EU. The
biggest "threat" to the EU Constitution is Ireland. It was Irish
politicians who discovered the nonsense document the EU had served
them with. Apparently, the Irish tried to read it. After they complained,
the EU, in attempt to fool them again, had presented another document, except
in this one, 75 pages were missing. To compensate for it, the font was
increased accross. They were caught once again. Smart Irish! Ireland is
the only country, in Europe, to challenge this disaster called
"constitution" (had been prepared in the early 70's) that will affect
every European. England has ignored the wishes of its citizens,
telling them 'there is nothing to worry', however English businessman
Stuart Wheeler is challenging this in the High Court. What is the EU Constitution: There isn't a way to explain the type of disaster the EU constitution is, but I will give just a very simplistic example. example:
You live in Athens, travel to Rome and get a parking ticket there. You
don't pay for the ticket in Rome. Next year you visit London and get
pulled over there. You will get arrested on a violation for your
parking ticket in Rome and will be jailed in London. One big enslaved
happy family.
For the Macedonian readers, you can only hope
to be that lucky and not be part of the EU. Unfortunatelly, the EU will
swallow you as well, because that's what they do. If the Irish dont
falter, there is increasing evidence the EU is offering its soul and
billions for a "yes" vote. The Irish could save Ireland, as well as
Europe. N.R.
