Vanco Saldzievski, Skopje

Modern history is more than known, before and after 1913. Changing of Aegean Macedonia to North Greece,  then to province Macedonia, changing the Solun airport and many other institutions to Macedonia, even naming the Greek Halva to "Macedonia".

After the Greek genocide in Aegean Macedonia, from the Greek Civil war, 1947/48, I was put in charge in Skopje, to take care of the expelled Macedonians. Among the Macedonians coming in there were many of them who were officers in DAG (Democratic Army of Greece). My orders were to first take care of them. To find  them apartments and jobs. For the most part I was successful. Most of them were hired in the security agency OZNA (Department for Protection of the People). I only remember my friends, Naum Peev and Oce. They told me of the horrific actions perpertrated by the Greeks and spoke of the Greek - Albanian war where Macedonian sons were put in the first lines as regruts and reservists.

During the Greek - Italian war, across the front lines there were Italian planes who constantly dropped leaflets written in Greek and Macedonian, signed by Vanco Mihajlov of VMRO. In the leaflet Vanco Mihajlov asked the Macedonians to surrender, because they shouldn't die for Greek national interests. It called Greeks, the Occupators of Aegean Macedonia.

Behind the Macedonian soldiers were Greek officers whose job was to execute any Macedonian who attempted to desert the battlefield. This segment is never mentioned, but is very important.

There isn't too much information for Macedonian involvment with Greek anti-fascist in 1941 against the Germans. There were Macedonians in ELAS, however, the biggest rank a Macedonian could get was a Captain, the higher ranks were reserved for the Greeks.

If there isn't a "White Book" published, the History Institute should start gathering the already available information from the Antic period until today. The book should be translated into several languages and be given to all World Governments, Academia, Universities etc, and the money should be provided by the Government, and not to spend it on populist commercials...
