Bush to get involved with Macedonia & Greece

Washington DC

The US president George W Bush will phone the Greek PM Karamanlis and the Macedonian President Crvenkovski in an attempt to negotiate a deal before the NATO Summit in Bucharest.

On the same token Nato's secretary general is to visit Athens to try to convince Greece not to block the membership of Macedonia. Foreign diplomats have already started lobbying for change in laws otherwise a country such as Greece or anyone else could hold a hostage someone else for whatever reasons. There are plans underway to change the law so new members could be accepted by 2/3 majority.

Monday's Athens visit of Jaap de Hoop Scheffer is part of a campaign of growing international pressure on Greece and its absurd stand with their Macedonian neighbour.
