Sure, he presents The Apprentice in America. But even Alan Sugar got no
further than the House of Lords. Quite far enough.
In a country where an actor, Ronald Reagan, was made president you might say
that a property tycoon like Trump has a decent chance, hmm unless you manage to bankrupt a casino, a Casino! But, it is America so..
Polls suggest Trump is the top choice of Republicans, who are desperate for
the moose-hunting Sarah Palin not to be their candidate.
But in this ingenious country with 300million inhabitants, isn't there anyone
at all who can take on the dithering Obama?
The best that Trump can say is that someone who can manage hair implants as
complex as his could handle the Oval Office.
His catchphrase - "You're fired!" - is something too many Americans have heard
for real under Obama's failed stimulus. In Texas airports, you can now
buy T-shirts emblazoned with George W Bush's face saying: "Miss me yet?"
Looking at the dearth of contenders for the Oval Office, you can see why.
