Macedonia's First division kicked off this weekend. Turnovo may be the biggest surprise today as it defeated the defending Mak Champion Shkendija 2-1.

Vardar started off well. The Skopje based club released all of its players this summer and brought 15 new players, including two foreigners (Brazilian and Nigerian).

The return of Filip Ivanovski proved fruitful for Vardar as he scored the only goal at 11 Oktomvri in Prilep. This 'different' Vardar is due to its new manager and sponsor, the City of Skopje, which brought in proven players not just in Macedonia, but abroad.

Napredok in Kichevo defeated Sileks for a good start to their season. Metalurg can only thank the terrible Swiss referee who stole away their win against Lokomotiv Sofia. It was a wake up call for the Skopje based club not to over respect weak opponents. Teteks was at the receiving end today as Metalurg started their season with a fury.

Renova proved too strong for Ohrid, defeating them 2-0. Both goals were scored by Boban Janchevski.
