This evening the Macedonian handball champion started Europe's strongest competition (Champions League) on a very positive note, defeating Slovenian champ  Cimos Koper 28-23.

In front of 3,500 fans, the favorites on paper, Cimos Koper found themselves down by three, and shortly afterwards by five goals which set the tone for the rest of the game.

Half time score was 15-7.

In the second half, the Macedonia champion routinely brought the match to a close, despite few flare-ups between the visiting players and their hosts.

Difference Maker: Metalurg's new goalie Darko Stanich. He was a real enigma for the visiting team. Koper struggled to score the entire match.
