Euro Handball preparations: Macedonia defeats Montenegro |

The Macedonian national handball team defeated their colleagues from Montenegro in a friendly match played in Zlatibor (Serbia) last night. Macedonia is preparing for an upcoming European championship in handball, hosted by Serbia to take place from January 15-29. Both teams decided to split the match in three periods, playing 25 minutes each. Macedonia was the better team in all three periods for a total score of 40-33. Kiril Lazarov scored 10 goals while Naum Mojsovski added 6 for Macedonia. For the Montenegris, Z. Markovic who plays his club handball for HC Metalurg Skopje scored 11. Both teams are scheduled to meet once more today. Macedonia will start their European campaign in Nish, drawn in a tough group with Sweden, Germany and Czech Republic.
