Serbian President Boris Tadic has pardoned actor Zarko Lausevic, the Serbian Presidency has confirmed to B92.
Lausevic is a Serbian citizen and the president made the decision on Wednesday.
The famous actor, who is currently living in the
U.S., was convicted of excessive self-defense in an altercation in a
Podgorica cafe in 1993 that left two men dead and one wounded.
Lausevic was sentenced twice to four and a half years
in prison. A Podgorica court sentenced him to 13 years in prison at the
latest trial.
The public prosecutor postponed his imprisonment at the time and a warrant for his arrest was also withdrawn.
The Serbian Pardon Committee sent a recommendation to Tadic to pardon the actor in September.
