By now everyone is familiar with the rivalry and hatred between Serbs and Croats, but this is "crazy squared"!!!

After the semifinal match between Serbia and Croatia ended with a Serbian win, a deranged Belgrade fan incredibly... threw a dart at Croat player Ivano Balic, however he missed and hit Serb star player Zarko Šešum right in the eye.

This loony move by the fan will bench Šešum not just for the "gold" game against Denmark, latest information out of Belgrade's City Hospital is that the injury is very serious. Doctors believe Šešum will probably undergo surgery to repair his cornia,  the hope is he won't lose sight in his left eye.

@ Tom

Serbia doesn't care. This will likely be the last time in a while that they get to host a tournament.

Their police and politicians don't consider security a priority. That country is in shambles.

Sigh
The more serious question is how did this mindless individual get in with a dart? For a game such as this surely security should have taken every measure possible
