Firefighters are still battling a 10 hectares blaze on Kamjakcalan, near Mariovo right along the lines of the Solun fronts which saw many battles during WW1. In the area there are unexploded bombs, some even containing chemical gas. Several explosions were overheard in the morning hours. The Government is not sending airplanes to put out the fire, fearing one of those explosions may hurl shrapnel towards the plane. Firefighters have registered 18 explosions thus far! The Bureau for Prevention and Protection has brought in a bomb expert and are calculating the safe distance both on the ground and in the air for firefighters to work. It is believed, there may be tens of thousands unexploded grenades and bombs in the area.
