Macedonian football hit another low when FIFA published their new rank list earlier today, putting Macedonia at 103.

Back home the situation gets stranger by the day. Just when you thought it would get better after Hadziristeski stepped down as the head of the Federation, football fans noticed that none of the people they hoped to see in charge has come forward as a candidate!

At this time Masar Omeragic and Ilco Georgievski are the most serious candidates to replace the man responsible for ruining Macedonian football, Haralampie Hadziristevski.

Once again we see anonymous people show up from the shadows, backed by a political party as candidates for the head of the Football Federation.

Ilco Georgievski, the current coach for Vardar may be a perfect example of someone who is drawn by the money and lured by the power the position brings. Despite being a coach for Vardar and awaiting a Champions League clash, he turned his back on the players and announced he is running for president of the Football Federation. This move itself should disqualify him!

Masar Omeragic, the other candidate, merits no mentioning as no one knows who he is, except that he wants the job badly!

One can easily see why would people want this job, despite not being qualified. Salary, power, prestige, more power and lets not forget our favorite, the reimbursements. Did you know 100 meter trip to get ice cream qualifies you for a 15 euro reimbursement from the Federation? Any match Macedonia plays outside the country means you may bring your family and more to a mini vacation, all expenses paid. We could go on and on with examples.

And where are our Legends in all this? Where is the master, the one and only Darko Pancev who seven years ago quit his post as a Director at the FFM less than 8 hours on the job citing "this place is too corrupt".

Where is Artim Sakiri, genius with the ball, arguibly the best player for the Macedonian national team in the last 20 years. Where is Ilija Najdoski who together with Pancev won everything that anyone can win at club level. Where is Gjorgji Hristov to instill his mindset on the Federation and the national team, well known for telling opposing players "we are better than you and your ladies look like dogs"! His mind games served him well on the field, not so much outside, yet he still remains one of the most beloved footballers in Macedonia.

What happened to putting someone in the Football Federation who has actually master the game, not just professionally from a business perspective!  Imagine the contacts and friendships a Darko Pancev has worldwide and how much that would benefit us and the Federation!

The names I have mentioned above are the best Macedonia can offer. Their names were carefully chosen because during their days Macedonia was consistently in the top 50. We had a well respected football team while the players themselves were arrogant in a good way, always aimed to win and showed very little respect for the other teams, whoever they were.  These are the people we need, an individual who is backed by all Macedonians, not someone who is backed by 100 delegates who during Haralampie's reign showed time and time again they can be bribed for as little as 100 euros.

10 years ago, 100 Euros is all it took for Haralampie to defeat Pancev in the running for FFM's boss. Pancev simply refused to bribe delegates and lost the vote.

Macedonian football needs and deserves something better than Omeragic, Georgievski, Haralampie... //Pero Stamatovski

What sort of future does our football have if we can\'t put in true football professionals who understand and love the game , rather than someone being voted in on a political basis. This is a sad day for Macedonian football. I say we get the public to vote in a new president, one that will make us hold our heads up high. I vote for Djoko Hadjieski! What a legend coach and administrator, he will fix it all!!!
