Macedonia will enter the second round of the Olympic qualification tournament after beating New Zealand with 84-62.

The win was never really questioned after Macedonia early on took a 7-0 lead which it increased until the end of the match.

The Kiwis weren't a threat, trying to climb into the match without much success. The closest the "Tall Blacks" could get was 11 pts when the score in the third quarter showed 66-55.

Quick baskets by Ilievski and Samardziski extended the lead to 16 after which the Kiwis' body language suggested they had given up. Macedonia had a 27 point lead near the end of the game, however a three pointer by NZ and a subsequent basket reduced to lead to 22 for a final 84-62.

Gechevski with 16, Antich with 17 and McCaleb with 23 points were the top scorers for Macedonia, while Pledger lead the pack for New Zealand with 11.
