The ban for water scooters at Ohrid, Prespa and Dojran lakes enters into force as of Thursday. They are banned from 11am-18pm until August 31.

The Government passed the decision on Wednesday due to safety of swimmers and lake traffic, as well as environment protection.

Violations will result in fines of EUR 6,000-8,000 for domestic and foreign legal entities, EUR 800-2,000 for natural persons, as well as EUR 600 mandatory fines.
