The Government has passed the amendments in the Law on Vehicles, introducing several novelties, including a sticker for registered vehicles, said Spokesman Aleksandar Gjorgjiev at Monday's press conference.

"The objective is that police officers do not check if vehicles are registered, since the sticker will be placed at a visible spot, most probably on the windshield. This European practice is in the interest of both the police and citizens", said Gjorgjiev.

The MoI will issue the sticker when registering the vehicle, whereas the amendments will enter into force one year after they are adopted by the Parliament.

Another novelty in the law is the obligation of the dealer to inform consumers on the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.

"When purchasing a new vehicle from the dealership, the seller is obliged to provide all information necessary for the consumer. Violation of the directive would result in fines", added Spokesman Gjorgjiev.
