Police arrests 9 tied to Janev and Tushevski murder in 2001 PDF Print E-mail

Former police inspectors, employees in the sector for Observation and Following are part of nine people arrested this morning in connection to the murder of two well known underground mafia leaders Marjan Tushevski and Kiro Janev back in 2001.

 

Marjan Tusevski and his friend were shot dead by three professional killers, who later entered a vehicle and left town.


The next day, according to the testimonies collected during the investigation, the men crossed the border into Serbia. One of the men was reportedly transferred to the other side of the border by a policeman in a Rover.

The guns used in the shooting were later recovered, after which it was confirmed that four shots were fired from them. After this, the investigation was given the codename “Rover”.

The three assassins who committed the murder were Serbian citizens Predrag Chubrilo, Milan Ilich and Milorad Kovacevich. 

 

One of the nine arrested this morning is Zoran Trajkovski, the head of Ljube Boskoski's personal securitty group who many believe to have organized the murder.

 

All of them were brought in front of a judge. According to sources within the MoI, main motive for the murder were financial dealings and money laundering.
