Toshack: Macedonian players are good, but lack discipline PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 14 September 2012

Ex Macedonian national football coach John Toshack in an interview for Mak sport media says he is happy with what he saw during the first two matches against Croatia and Scotland.

The one thing that bothered Toshack is the fact that Macedonian players needlessly picked up yellow cards, mostly due to as he says "being undisciplined" and outright "unprofessional".

The Welshman is pleased with the schedule he picked for the WC Qualification.

"I always knew Scotland plays bad in September, at the same time the Croats will be tired from their Euro 2012 outing, therefore I made sure we played these two teams first" says Toshack for Nova Makedonija.

"Macedonia was so much better than Scotland, it's a real pitty it didn't win the match. I was unhappy with the amount of yellow cards picked up by the team. There is no need for players to pick up yellow cards for lack of discipline. Pandev, Shumulikoski, Hasani, Gligorov, Ibraimi, Georgievski... all have yellow cards, it is realistic they will pick up some more yellows and will receive one match suspension for the upcoming matches" says Toshack.

The Welshman claims Janevski needs to work on the discipline of his players, what good are they when they are receiving suspensions, concluded Toshack.
