The visa procedure is considered unfair in many courts including the European Court of Justice.

The highest number of visa applications are issued at the French consulate general in Istanbul according to the 2011 statistics of the European Commission.

Getting visa from Greece is the easiest for Turkish citizens while getting visa from Norway is the hardest with a rejection rate of 23.4 percent in Norwegian embassy in Ankara.
