Nearly 700 thousand Turkish
citizens pay approximately EUR 50 million to get visa from Schengen
countries every year, Anadolu news agency reports.
The visa procedure is considered unfair in many courts including the European Court of Justice.
The highest number of visa applications are issued at
the French consulate general in Istanbul according to the 2011
statistics of the European Commission.
Getting visa from Greece is the easiest for Turkish
citizens while getting visa from Norway is the hardest with a rejection
rate of 23.4 percent in Norwegian embassy in Ankara.
After Russia, Ukraine and China, Turkey makes the highest number of Schengen visa applications.
