Over 300 people with flu-like symptoms have been
reported in Macedonia since the beginning of January, Jovanka Kostovska
- head of the Health Ministry's sector for preventive health protection -
told Monday's press conference. "It is also expected besides seasonal flu, swine flu
to be also registered in Macedonia, since it has been already detected
in Serbia and Kosovo," she stated.
More than 900 cases with flu-like symptoms have been
reported since October last year. The number of cases is likely to be
increased by the end of January and in February.
"According to the World Health Organisation, those
who are most at risk from being infected with the flu are toddlers,
pregnant women, people with weak immunity, chronically ill people and
elderly people".
