Macedonia & UK to uphold Defense cooperation
Friday, 04 October 2013

Deputy Defense Minister Emil Dimitriev met Friday with the outgoing and newly-appointed defense attaches of the United Kingdom to Macedonia - Colonel Philip Osment and Lieutenant Colonel Richard John Perry respectively - to discuss ways to resume the excellent cooperation, reforms implemented in the Defense Ministry and the Macedonian Army (ARM) and its contribution to international peacekeeping missions.

Dimitriev at the meeting expressed his gratitude for the support provided by the UK to Macedonia's integration bid into Euro-Atlantic structures and logistics support for ARM troops within ISAF forces in Afghanistan, MoD said in a press release.

The Deputy Minister said Macedonia was open for cooperation in all areas, including the possibility for using the Krivolak army base for training of the UK armed forces.
