US Dollar in free fall
Wednesday, 12 March 2008
Image The common European currency for the first time exceeded the threshold of 1,55 US dollars for one Euro and reached 1,5504 dollars late Wednesday.
This is caused by the published data on production in the Euro-zone in January.
The new record interrupted the increase of the dollar exchange rate that started Tuesday after the announcement of several central banks, including the American one, for undertaking measures for handling the credit crisis. At the moment, if you earn your money in the US, you can only spend it in the US. Lets' face it, it's not worth much outside the US and the situation is only worsening.
