2016 Macedonian Exports Rise 5.4%

The total value of goods exported from Macedonia between January and November 2016 was estimated at MKD 241,950,630 thousand - a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2015, statistics show.

The value ofgoods  imported in the same period was MKD339.520.438 thousand, which is a 5.2% increase in the same period, according to data of the State Statistical Office of Macedonia.

Trade deficit from January to November 2016 stood at MKD 97.569.807 thousand. Import coverage by export in the period from January to November 2016 was 71.3%.

External trade by products shows that in the exports the most significant products are supported catalysts with precious metal or precious metal compounds as the active substance, ignition wiring sets and other wiring sets of a kind used in vehicles, aircraft or ships, ferro-nickel and clothes. In the imports, the most significant products are the platinum and platinum alloys, unwrought or in powder form, petroleum oils and oils obtained from bituminous minerals (other than crude), other metals of the platinum group and alloys thereof, unwrought or in powder form and electricity.

According to the total external trade volume recorded between January and November 2016, Germany, Great Britain, Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria were considered Macedonia's most important trade partners.
