Don't Burn Wood for Badnik - say Macedonian Priests Riding in Yachts
Thursday, 05 January 2017

ДРВА ДА НЕ СЕ ПАЛАТ ЈАХТИ ДА СЕ УЖИВААТ

Macedonian priests forbade their Christian sons to burn wood during the traditional Badnik/Kolede celebrations that date back more than a thousand years.

They say, the ancient tradition is not very Christian, but pagan instead.

Of course, it's very Christian-like for the same priests to ride in 500,000 euros yachts, drive Porches, meet up with prostitutes, or in my case to prevent a fight in Butel (Skopje's main graveyard) between two priests who threw punches at each other fighting over a 'client'.

Needless to say, Macedonians did not heed the advice of their 'holy leaders', and tonight literally every Skopje neighborhood has built massive fires where people have gathered around to drink and eat. The site is quite pretty, it's been snowing the entire day, there is at least 25-30cm on the ground. //Pero Stamatovski
