Seven ethnic Albanian recruits in the Greek Army have been jailed for 60 days, due to their display of an albanian eagle while on duty for the Greek Army, reported Tirana based Top Channel TV.

The same source states each soldier received 50 days jail time from Greece's Chief of Staff, while additional 10 days were added by Defense Minister Panos Kamenos.

The punishment came as the military tribunal in Janina was investigating the incident which caused outrage across Greece.

All seven soldiers have Greek citizenship.
