MoFA takes measures for settling Greek border problem

Macedonia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) has been taking concrete activities for surpassing the problem with the blockade on the Macedonian-Greek border crossing Evzoni.

A letter of protest is sent to the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs with a request for prompt resolution of the problem, MoFA said Thursday in a press release.

MoFA also sent a letter to the European Commission, notifying that the border blockade violates the right of free movement of goods and people, stipulated in the EU Stabilization and Association Agreement, which is also signed by Greece.

Furthermore, MoFA asked an offer from Albania for the Port of Durres to be used for export and import of goods and meeting of the needs of Macedonia companies.

The Macedonian-Greek border crossing Evzoni have been blocked by Greek farmers since 30 January.
