Ivanov appoints new Director at Intel Agency

President Gjorge Ivanov appointed today Zoran Ivanov as the new director of the Intelligence Agency, replacing outgoing director Nakje Culev, whose term as expired.

Zoran Ivanov comes from the post chief of military intelligence within the Service for Military Security and Intelligence.

Ivanov graduated from the Skopje-based Military Academy, received an M.A. degree at the United States Army Command and General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, followed by a PhD at the Macedonian National History Institute. Besides combat experience during the 2001 conflict in Macedonia and the Iraq peacekeeping mission in 2006, he is also an expert in special operations and psychological warfare.
