Chief Spokesman for the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, Igor Konashenkov, gave a statement in Moscow, Tuesday, during which he said “with whom and against whom are the US Special Forces fighting in Syria? No reasoned explanations on this issue have yet been received.”

“There is absolutely zero evidence, no signs of fighting on the images of the ISIS strongholds occupied by the US Special Forces and the Kurdish formations. There are no funnels from the rupture of artillery or air ammunition, moreover, as you can see, there is no even basic protection, not to mention defence,” he said.

He also reported on Russia’s latest Kh-101 cruise missile attack “on the most important ISIS and Jabhat an-Nusrah targets in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor and Idlib.”

“Russian strategic bombers TU-95 successfully covered the distance of about 7,000 kilometres [4,350 miles],” he said, adding “The objective control data confirmed the defeat of all targets.”
