Kosovo
Serb media representatives are calling for their own full-time, Serbian
language television channel to be launched in Kosovo.
Five local Serb television companies and five
independent television production companies took part in a meeting in
the Kosovo Serb enclave of Caglavica, outside Pristina to demand the
first full-time Serbian language television in Kosovo after Serbia lost
control over Kosovo in 1999.
Kosovo Serbs after 1999 have had a few dozen local
radio and television stations but not a single Kosovo-wide radio or
television service nor daily newspapers. //11.29.08
