 Latvia
regrets that Macedonia was
not invited to join NATO due to name issue and hopes that Macedonia will
become NATO member in the nearest future.
Latvia expresses regret that
the lack of progress in bilateral talks between Macedonia
and Greece on the name of Macedonia has prevented the Bucharest meeting from reaching an agreement
on inviting it to join the alliance, Latvian Foreign Ministry said in a
statement.
Latvia
hopes that the two states will continue a productive dialogue on the name issue
and that in the nearest future the member states will be able to adopt a
decision on its integration into NATO, the statement says.
