While Syrian President Bashar Assad wants Turkey to mediate for the
renewal of Syrian-Israeli peace talks, Israeli State Minister Benny
Begin has defied eventual involvement of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, Turkish Milliyet newspaper reports.
The Israeli PM
Benjamin Netanyahu’s advisor however stated in an interview that Turkey
and the USA are legal channels for talks between Israel and Syria and
some time ago PM Netanyahu declared he was prepared to go anywhere for
the sake of initiating such talks the Milliyet says.
