Macedonia’s Agriculture Ministry held a press conference whose main topic was the granting of concessions for the lakes Dojran and Prespa.

The Government of Macedonia has already announced that concession tenders would be issued for these lakes, while it has already placed a moratorium on commercial fishing in Ohrid Lake until 2014. 

The fish stock in Ohrid Lake, which also includes certain endangered species, has diminished and it needs time to renew itself. To ensure this, a fishing service and the Ministry of the Interior will take care of Ohrid Lake.
