Kosovo's president Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hashim Thaqi signed with the US ambassador to Kosovo Christopher Dell the first bilateral formal agreement on economic aid between the USA and Kosovo.

The aid will mostly be directed to infrastructure, economy, transport, education, etc. This agreement once again proves that the USA and Kosovo agree to work together in order to provide for economic prosperity in Kosovo, Dell said.

President Sejdiu said this was a very special day for Kosovo, as the agreement formalized the US assistance. In the past ten years, the aid was coming through various agencies and other channels, not directly through the Government. Sejdiu vouched that every cent would be spent in the most responsible manner. The PM also stressed the aid would be used in a transparent manner.
