1. Foreign Diplomats in Macedonia are running around telling us the elections should be free and democratic, without any kind of violence. For once, they can pin point their finger to the one with the fattest dossier of undemocratic and unfair behavior.
For VMRO and SDSM the story for democratic and undemocratic behavior
starts and ends with before-elections hirings, depending who leads the
Government. When it comes to violence, we all know who fires shots. So,
don't generalize things. Control the “human rights fighters” which EU
and US makes above equal than anyone else. 2. After the embarrassing NATO Summit, the foreign diplomats
should perhaps keep their mouth shut. They don't have the credibility
nor the face to tell us anything. When we got the boot at the NATO
Summit in Bucharest, they said we have achieved all criteria for
membership. Then what are they worried about?
3. If EU, NATO need to get someone in line, they can call
Greece to respect international agreements and basic human rights, to
which they are signatories. They did not do that in Bucharest. Now, to
make us feel better, continue to send letters to Crvenkovski and
Gruevski expressing their desire to see Macedonia in NATO and EU! If
you wanted us that bad, how come you don't admit us? Greece made
monkeys out of everyone. Now we need to feel sorry because they wanted
to admit us in NATO, but just couldn't. We also need to have an
understanding that the Greek veto is not an unfriendly act. Do we need
to apologize because we consider Greece to be our enemy?
4. It's not an unfriendly act that Greece forbid flyover of MAT.
Why? Because the Airline is called “Macedonian Airways Transport”. The
international sign of MAT is IN. The registry of the Macedonian planes
is 33. Who is bothered by the word “Macedonian” at 10,000 meters? There
are no birds up there. Unless Greece believes the word “Macedonian”
would upset Zeus. What makes it worse, this passes easily with the EU.
What to think about this? Either the people at the EU and NATO don't know
how to react because they can't comprehend the Greek primitivism, or
they are just like them. They are either confused, or the Greek
behavior is very normal at EU and NATO levels. Whatever Greece
requests, they would grant it. Tomorrow, Greece will request passengers
flying over Greece, not to be bald. Or to flyover barefoot only. Or
their asses not to be big. Ok, this is little absurd. Surely, the
baldness won't upset Greek nationalist feelings, for which EU and NATO
partners have an understanding. However, when speaking of emotions, it
is very likely Greeks to request air passengers to not have mustaches,
so they wouldn't look like their mothers. Before each flight, the list
of passengers would be sent for authorization to the Greek Authorities,
because the “Greek people are very emotional”. Anyone with name of
Alexandar and Alexandra would be banned from flying because this is a
clear proof of 'irredentist territorial ambitions'. God forbid some
lady with a name like 'Makedonka' to board a plane. She shouldn't buy a
ticket before editing her name with a geographical term that would be
considered in Greece as a compromise. The way this has started,
tomorrow they will close the border once again. Greece would let us
die, and everyone from the EU will issue a statement “Sorry, but we do
have understanding for Greek emotions, and we must have solidarity”.
And we, the big fools we are, we'll feel bad for the EU, how difficult
is for them to say anything to Greece. That's life. Jan de Hoop
Scheffer, NATO's General Secretary said it best: “Greece is a member of
NATO, and you are not.”
5. Greece can request whatever they want, what has me worried is
that our president and prime minister did not convince me that they
have same ideas. They get photo ops together, and the following day one
says one thing, the other one something else. Or they are both quiet,
waiting for the other one to say something, so they could hate one
another. We saw what happened with Nikola Dimitrov. He really had no
need to say anything, because he is just a negotiator. If he didn't
like the politics of it, he could have stepped down. Our Government
spokesperson said negative things about Dimitrov. The Government forgot
that Dimitrov is representing Macedonia. Dimitrov was not included in
the latest talks with Nimetz. Why was there public condemnation of
Dimitrov? If you condemn him inside, what credibility would he have
outside of Macedonia? And then we are wondering how did Greece manage
to make an absurd and stupid name dispute into an international drama.
Well, they did. Greece doesn't condemn its politicians in public. Author: Goran Mihajlovski
